READ and PRINT this before adding any CFP to this site!

Please print out these instructions before proceeding further. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@artsofthepresent.org.

These cfp pages may be used to post calls for papers for conferences and academic meetings and also calls for participation in festivals, biennales, triannuals, and other performance venues. (Please do not use this space merely to announce these performance venues, but only to solicit active participation by A.S.A.P. members.) These pages are not for discussion of conferences or general blogging. Advertisements of commercial products or services not directly related to the purpose of the list are forbidden. Any entry that includes comments on other entries, vandalism (including jokes and deliberately false announcements), advertisements for products, personal attacks, and other disruptive behavior will be deleted by the site operator, and the person sending such posts may be permanently barred from this site. The site operator reserves the right to remove, at any time, any entry posted by members that he/she deems inappropriate, including those concerning topics outside the scope of ASAP's mission.

Members may post calls by doing the following:

  1. Click on "Post new forum topic"
  2. Type in a Subject. Subject lines should have the following format: CFP: [title] [deadline for proposals]
  3. By default, "Forums" is set to "Calls for Papers and Presentations." If you want to submit a cfp, just leave this as is.NOTE: If your call for papers or presentations is not for a conference paper but for a festival, biennale, triannual, or other kind of performance venue, make sure that "Festivals, Biennales, Triannuals, Performances" is set in the "Forums" button.
  4. In the block titled "Body," cut-and-paste (in RTF format) or type in your CFP.
    • Format for body entries in this order: TITLE OF SESSION; NAME OF CONFERENCE; DATES OF CONFERENCE; DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS DATE; DESCRIPTION; CONTACT INFORMATION including email.
    • Please limit the length of your cfp to 400 words.
    • Please do not insert coding. This site recognizes only the most basic HTML codes, and we ask that you do not spend time trying to make your CFP fancy looking. Please just type in the necessary information without bling.
  5. Click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.

Please note: there are other options for you to click on this page: please do not do so. We have set all settings to ensure that your cfp appears where it should on this website.

Alternatively, A.S.A.P. members may post calls for research opportunities to the site operator by sending an email to info@artsofthepresent.org. Please send postings as "plain text" (aka. ASCII text) in the body of the message rather than as an attachment. Please turn off MIME-encoding and HTML-encoding in your email programs, and please do not send attachments. Entries may be in any language, but should be clearly stated, include dates and contact information, and be of reasonable length (400 words total). All calls should be for viable and timely projects. SUBJECT LINE OF EMAIL SHOULD READ "ASAP CFP: [TITLE], [DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION DATE]"
